Whizzing on Wheels in the Peak District

We had a great day whizzing through the Peak District on the Manifold Trail.

We hired bikes from Manifold Cycle Hire and I hired a trailer to lug the 3 year old along with. We opted for gel cushioned seats which I strongly recommend if you want to be able to walk the next day.

The trail was flat and really good fun. However, Rule No. 1 : Always Bring a Picnic was forgotten and we tried to buy food at the various cafes and stops along the route but they only accepted cash.

There is Thor’s Cave to stop and walk up to on the route. A really steep climb but worth it for the views.

We did about 6 miles before heading back and by the time we got back to the car everyone was tired and ready for a quick bite to eat at the pub by the cycle hire.
