It’s Raining, It’s Pouring!
So, it’s the summer holidays and we all had visions of picnics in the park but as it’s England we never know if it’s going to tip it down or not.
Whist there are so many things to do indoors to keep the kids entertained, there is only so much Peppa Pig on one ipad and Horrible Histories on the iphone I can take before I have to get out and tire them out somewhere.
So here are my top 5 rainy day outings in the Midlands that I have in my arsenal for this summer:
- Birmingham Museums
The six-year-old is learning about Ancient Egyptian at school so we are planning to head to Birmingham Museum to see some mummies. I also like looking around the art gallery here – all free to enter.
There are so many great kids films out this summer. However, I am a scrooge when it comes to paying full price for us to go to the cinema and always opt for the Kids Club which is £2.50 each. So goodbye BFG and Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory. We will see you in the October half term!
We live near the Snowdome in Tamworth so if it’s raining outside I am planning to take them to Snowplay to throw snowballs. Other options here are ice skating, swimming and skiing.
- Water Park
Jump Xtreme has just opened in Tamworth and I am more than a little excited! It’s probably more suitable for the 6 year old but it beats the usual soft play!
There is no such thing as bad weather. Just bad clothing.
Or you could just stick the wellies on, and say “screw you” to the weather and get out there!!
If you have any more Rainy Day ideas for family days out then please let me know. Or let me know what you get up to.
